October In Review

Fall Fair
This October, ALCC celebrated the arrival of harvest season by hosting its very first Fall Fair! ALCC students, staff, and community members spent the morning and afternoon enjoying delicious fall treats, crafts, games, tarot card readings, fall-themed trivia, and so much more! Big thank you to everyone who came to celebrate the season of pumpkin spice and sweater weather with us! What better way to spend an October afternoon!

Thanksgiving Potluck
In the spirit of Thanksgiving and other celebrations of harvest, students and staff at ALCC came together this month to partake in a school potluck. We had everything from traditional Canadian Thanksgiving dishes to popular foods from other countries, including South Korea, Japan, and China. What better way to connect with others and celebrate the fall bounty than through sharing a delicious meal?

Halifax Central Library Tour
Where can you read a book, take a cooking class, and learn a musical instrument all in the same place? This month, our ALCC students learned everything the Halifax Central Library has to offer—and it’s more than just books! Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind, programs for children and youth, help with your taxes, or research for a school project, the Central Library offers all of that, and more!

Pumpkin Carving
Happy Halloween! We couldn’t finish the month of October without carving some spooky (and some silly) Jack-o-lanterns in the spirit of the holiday! Some of our students tried their hand at pumpkin carving for the first time, while others honed their skills from previous years. Needless to say, we saw no shortage of imagination and creativity. No two Jack-o-lanterns are ever quite the same!
