
About UBP
The purpose of this program is to help students make a smooth transition from learning English as a Second Language (ESL) to academic studies at university or college. The UBP is designed to provide the kinds of academic learning skills students need to succeed in their academic future. The program gives students ample practice with concepts and assessments they will be exposed to in a post-secondary education setting. This intensive program makes sure students are ready and prepared to take the next step in their journey to higher education in Canada.
Duration
Our UBP students spend 13 weeks learning the core skills they need to prosper in the Canadian higher-education system. During the 12 weeks, students will complete 3 modules which are 4 weeks each. Students who successfully complete the modules will sit a final exit exam in their last week.
Entrance Requirements
Students can enter the UBP one of the following ways:
- Successfully completed ALCC's EAP Level 5 with a mark of 70% will enter the UBP
- Met the requirements of ALCC's Placement Testing
- Submit one of the English proficiency test scores below, complete a placement interview and a written assessment:

Program Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the University Bridging Program, students must complete all three modules, write the final exit exam, and attend a minimum of 80% of classes. Students must achieve an average of no less than 70% and complete all major assignments.
